| Monday the 23rd, day Three: Wow! Today some very interesting things happened... I can't wait untill I fully understand the mystery of humans and city life! First, I got up this morning, and I had a wonderful breakfast... lamb loaf, and Pa chopped me some fresh veggies too! (I left all the carrots. they seem shocked at this, because apparently other Rotties LOVE carrots... I was not impressed, myself.) The rest of the veggies were VERY yummy though! Then, we got in the car again (AGAIN, I thought? How long THIS time? ugh.) ...but we only went a little ways... and then Pa got OUT! Augh! He said 'bye bye!' and I was all- oh no... no no no, this will not do. I want Pa most of all, and now I am in a car with Dad, and we're driving AWAY!! When we were obviously not going back, I flopped down on the seat and looked very depressed. Ugh. I love Pa... and here I am, in a car with Dad. How did THAT happen? And why does Dad keep saying "he's just at work! we'll go get him later!" What's WORK mean? We went to the Petsmart though! I know what those are, because it looked a lot like the Petsmart we had been to yesterday! I was very good- even when some little dogs tried to run over to play, I sat down and politely said 'no thank you, I am not playing right now' like I was taught to do yesterday! I got to meet some people, and Dad bought a thing called a 'Halti' that he said would teach me much quicker, where he wants me to go when I am on-leash... I don't know what that is yet, but it's a very pretty red color, which I like very much. We are going to go out later and try it out! Dad stopped at a place called a 'grochery store' and he told me I can't come in 'yet'... I don't know what YET means. No dogs are allowed in stores, right? So I laid down in the backseat and I waited. I was a little nervous. Where'd he go? But you know, I laid right there like a good girl, and waited. When he came back, he put some food in the car trunk, and we went by a fast food place for some FRIES... yummy. Fries! I liked them, but we didn't get to eat them untill we got home. He said the 'yet' word again... it sounds like a challenge to me... when will I be able to go into a store and a fries-selling-place with him? What is this 'yet' word? Soon, I hope! What will I have to learn, I wonder, before they let me? Hmmmm... Well we came home, and I am spending a nice afternoon with Dad. We're learning things, and I showed him how clever a girl I really am! He broke a cookie up, to run me through the short list of commends I am learning- Sit... lie down... sit tall... and I was hesitant to sit tall for him... he encouraged me saying "sit tall! come on! up!" and I LOOKED at him- and some little light bulb went on, and I went OH! UP... I know that command! So I ran to the futon and jumped onto it. yay! UP!!! Dad was really surprised... But Up is the cue for getting onto a bed or couch, right? Hey, I think i'm a pretty bright girl, to figure that out! He laughed and gave me a cookie, and said "good up!" like he was still surprised. hah hah. I Win again! Oh. I have my own theme song now. Just so ya know- it is to the same melody as the birthday song on Radio Disney, which is sung by a guy the called 'bear in the big blue house'... it goes like this: Happy happy happy happy Bertha, Bertha. Happy happy happy happy Bertha- Bertha! Happy happy happy Bertha! Happy happy happy Bertha! Happy Bertha Today! I just wiggle right out of my skin when Dad sings this... so if you pass a very buxom Rottie Lady and a Human Man singing 'Happy Bertha' at her... you will know not to laugh at him too much.
